Every sound in Rush Keys Deluxe is triple-tested to ensure tonal consistency across every environment:
My promise: What you hear at home will fully translate on stage through your rig.
1) Included in this sound pack is an Analog Lab sound bank with more than 100 sounds from the Arturia V Collection and you can play all of these without buying any licenses. Arturia has a free version of their flagship software called Analog Lab Play, and that's enough to import and play the Arturia sounds (Oberheims, Minimoogs, Jupiters and a few more. NO TAURUSES OR PPG's)
*In the Gig Performer / MainStage layouts there are many instances of the standalone plugins from the V Collection, so to use the full potential of the rigs you do need to own the V Collection.
2) The Moog Taurus sounds use the plugin Lowdown by Cherry Audio. You are required to own this plugin license to play the Taurus sounds.
3) The PPG sounds are available for theMicrowave 1. You have to own the license to play the PPG sounds.
About the PPG Wave 3V plugin, read the FAQ below.
If you don't own any plugins, you can still play all the sounds made within the Arturia ecosystem by using Analog Lab
Analog Lab Play is FREE and has the Import function built into it, meaning you can import the full Arturia soundbank and play all the sounds that are included there.
*Without owning the Arturia V Collection license (or the individual plugin licenses) you CAN PLAY the sounds but you CAN'T EDIT the sounds via their panel editor.
The Analog Lab soundbank includes Minimoog, Oberheim, Jupiter-8, Emulator 2 sounds and a bit more, but it DOES NOT INCLUDE THE MOOG TAURUS SOUNDS OR THE PPG WAVE SOUNDS.
The Moog Taurus sounds from this sound pack use the LOWDOWN plugin by CHERRY AUDIO
The PPG sounds from this sound pack use the Microwave 1 plugin by WALDORF
Both of these plugins are paid, so to play these sounds you need to own their licenses from their respective providers (Cherry Audio / Waldorf)
My goal was to use the best plugins to reach the most faithful results possible.
Unfortunately it's not possible to reach such results by only using free plugins.
NO!
TL/DR -> Don't buy the PPG Wave 3V, get the Waldorf Microwave 1.
IF the PPG Wave 3V plugin was up to date and working well, yes that would be the way since it's "the actual instrument", but that plugin was coded and released around 2010, which is ancient in computing terms. I have used and tested it extensively for months in the making of this sound pack and I confidently say that it's 100% UNRELIABLE FOR LIVE PERFORMANCE AND WILL DRIVE YOU MAD.
If anybody from Waldorf ever reads this, guys please just rework that plugin from the ground up... please!
The right move is to buy the Microwave 1. That plugin contains all the original wavetables from the PPG and it's waay more recent and reliable (released Aug 2024).
I still need to write a blog post about this.
Refer to the minimum requirements for running the Arturia V Collection, Cherry Audio Lowdown, PPG Wave, Gig Performer, MainStage(...)
I recommend using the best machine you can. I'm personally using a Macbook Pro M4 Pro with 24gb of RAM.
General guidelines: with Mac, avoid intel (i5, i7) processors at all costs (since Apple released their silicon processors (M1 onwards), the Macbooks that have intel processors became obsolete very quickly.
I would shoot for Macbook Pro/Air/Mini, at least M1, at least 16gb of RAM (just to be completely safe)
If you are a Windows kind of guy, I recommend shooting for AMD Ryzen processors and at least 16gb of RAM.
YES YOU CAN MAKE DO WITH LESSER MACHINES, BUT the worse the computer, the more you have to compensate with latency and/or risk CPU overload / crashes.
Unfortunately no. This sound pack uses multiple virtual instruments from different brands, so the only way to have all these great sounds from these great instruments is using a laptop as the brains of the operation and using MIDI controllers to play the sounds.
It's completely normal to hesitate going into the VST route at first, but once you see the magic it's very hard to beat it.
It's not that big of a deal getting used to always having a laptop on-stage.
Yes, the sounds were all created using virtual instruments (plugins), and those can be used within any DAW of your choice.
There are complete stage-ready performance layouts included in this sound pack for the two most popular plugin hosts out there: Gig Performer and MainStage. Both GP and MainStage are paid and require ownership of the license to be used.
Yes absolutely, though the Gig Performer and MainStage rig files are optimized for 1 keyboard of 61 keys + 1 set of MIDI Pedals.
If you wish to use two keyboards, you will have to do all the rerouting and adaptation yourself.
I have a recommended gear page here in the website and that's a great guide, but I'll answer it here more specifically:
1) KEYBOARD: I recommend choosing between the Arturia Keylab 61 Mk3, the M Audio Oxygen Pro 61 or the Novation Launchkey 61 Mk4.
2) MIDI PEDAL: I recommend choosing between the Crumar Mojopedals 13, Studiologic MP113 or Muse Kinetics 12 Step 2.
3) MIDI SWITCHER: I recommend choosing between the MorningStar MC4/6/8, the Paint Audio MIDI Captain, or M VAVE Chocolate Plus
Yes, this will be done via a Youtube video. The easiest, quickest setup is:
1) Buy, Download and Install all the plugins and plugin host (Gig Performer or MainStage)
2) Open the Gig Performer [.gig] or MainStage [.concert] rig file
3) Assign your devices (specify to the software what your keyboard and MIDI Pedals are)
4) Good to go!
* Lowdown, PPG Wave and Microwave don't have the same built-in Import function that the Arturia ecosystem has, so you manually have to place the preset files in the correct directory folder.
Just by opening the GP/MS rigs all of the sounds should load correctly, but for safety / completeness it's better to make sure to store the preset files in the correct respective folders.
No, Rush Keys Deluxe is only sold as the complete package, no exceptions.
But you will own all the presets for all the plugins for life, so you can buy each plugin license over time.
No, c'mon man...
