Allan Lobo

Hey, I'm Allan — musician, sound designer, and educator.

I left a promising path in biomedical science to follow my heart and dedicate my life to music. From 2016 to 2022 I played 200+ shows with a Pink Floyd tribute, enjoying every moment and using the stage to learn what really works in a mix. That experience led to the making of high-end performance-ready sound packs like Floyd Keys Deluxe and Rush Keys Deluxe.

My passion for teaching led to the creation of the APEX Keyboard Academy and APEX Synth Academy, comprehensive courses on how to play keyboards and how to program synthesizers.

I synthesize all the knowledge and experience I acquired through the years to help musicians evolve faster and smarter.

What I do

Music / Live Performance

Keyboard is my main instrument, but I can play decent guitar, an honest amount of drums and I sing backing vocals. In 2024 I started saxophone. I'm currently not performing live.
Video Making

I make keyboard tutorials for my favorite songs, instructional synth-patching guides and much more for Youtube. I use Final Cut Pro to edit.
Sound Design

I hunt for the sweet spot in every parameter to create keyboard / synth sound packs, crafting each single preset from scratch. I work mainly with the Arturia V Collection and Roland Fantom
Teaching / Consulting

I teach keyboards, sound design and rig setup (software and hardware) both directly 1-on-1 via Zoom and through my courses APEX Synth Academy and APEX Keyboard Academy
Branding / Design

I take care of my whole visual identity - every logo, thumbnail, theme art, web page, image slider and button is a deliberate choice. I use Affinity Designer for most of it.
