READY TO MAKE A DECISION?

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Precision and Variety

Each preset in Wakeman Leads has been carefully crafted based on 1) the original 1970s "Journey to the Centre of the Earth" and "The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table" albums, as well as 2) their 2010's remasters and expanded versions, and 3) a few live variants. This ensures that you get the most authentic and precise recreation of Rick Wakeman's iconic Moog leads.

Convenience and Flexibility

You can see three Moogs in this picture. Vintage analog gear is great, but it's also very expensive and sensitive to decalibration and damage.  Imagine the weight and effort to carefully carry all of that around on tour. Oh, and the maintenance.

With Wakeman Leads you will have maximum convenience:

1) No weight because the instrument and presets are software.

2) No tuning problems because digital pitch is perfectly stable.

3) Matching the instrument Rick used, only as a software recreation.

4) All sounds safely stored as presets for instant recalling.

5) Any MIDI Controller can do the job.

6) Lifetime Access, switch computers, switch controllers, it doesn't matter.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What are the minimum requirements?

You only need to download Analog Lab by Arturia.

    https://www.arturia.com/products/software-instruments/analoglab

If you already own the V Collection or Mini V4, you're set. Just download the soundbank file after purchase, import and have fun,

    * About computer parameters like processor and RAM memory, I recommend having at least an i5 with 8gb of RAM.

Allan's top tier recommendation: Macbook Pro, M3 processor with 128GB of RAM

For more info on computer requirements, consult the Analog Lab page from the Arturia website

  • What is Analog Lab?

Analog Lab is a hub for all Arturia software instruments from the V Collection. You can open it as a plugin inside of your DAW, or as a standalone app, and it can play sounds from any of the instruments.

There are 4 tiers of Analog Lab:

    Analog Lab PLAY (free)

    Analog Lab INTRO

Analog Lab PRO (If you buy a Keylab you get a license)

Analog Lab PRO + V Collection

The free version is enough to be able to import this sound pack.

V Collection is a separate license that gives you further access to customize the sounds, but it's not a requirement to load and play Wakeman Leads.

  • What is the V Collection?

It's a collection of software recreations of legendary vintage keyboards and synthesizers made by Arturia. They sell each instrument separately, but you can get them all as a bundle for a much better price.

Minimoog, Prophet-5, Jupiter 8, CS-80, Hammond Organ, and many more, all recreated as "apps" that you can open, conect to a keyboard and play.

    * You don't need a full V Collection license to be able to import Wakeman Leads, though I recommend getting it because it's absolutely fantastic and worth it.

  • Will this work with any MIDI Controller?

YES! The sound engines of Analog Lab and the V Collection instruments are SOFTWARE, so the "brains" are inside of your computer.

MIDI is a standardized communication protocol of digital instruments, and controllers ~control~ software or hardware instruments. You use your MIDI controller to trigger the sounds that are being processed in real time inside of your computer.

  • Does it work with previous versions of V Collection?

Yes! The only requirement being Analog Lab, it works with previous versions of the V Collection.

With Analog Lab you can play sounds from any instrument from the V Collection, what the V Collection licenses adds is INSIDE ACCESS to CUSTOMIZE presets. If you have V Collection 8 you will be able to play ALL sounds from Wakeman Leads because you can access MIni V4 sounds through Analog Lab, you just won't be able to open Mini V4 and further edit the sounds.

  • Can I store the sounds in my keyboard so I don't need to use a computer?

Only if you have an Arturia Astrolab.

This new keyboard that Arturia released has the V Collection sound engines built into it. I don't own one yet.

Regular MIDI controllers only trigger sounds from computers / laptops / other modules, so you will always need a mac or pc connected to process the sounds.

  • How do I import the sounds after purchase?

    It's a very simple process.

    1) Open Analog Lab or Mini V4 (standalone or plugin)

    2) Click the icon of 3 lines on the top left corner

    3) Click IMPORT

    4) Select the Wakeman Leads Soundbank File

All of the files will be imported at once.

  • Analog Lab Play versus Analog Lab Pro

There are 4 tiers of Analog Lab:

    Analog Lab PLAY (free)

    Analog Lab INTRO

Analog Lab PRO (If you buy a Keylab you get a license)

Analog Lab PRO + V Collection

The free version is enough to be able to import this sound pack.

V Collection is a separate license that gives you further access to customize the sounds, but it's not a requirement to load and play Wakeman Leads.

WHO IS BEHIND FLOYD KEYS DELUXE?

Meet the Sound Designer

Hello! I'm Allan, I make a living helping keyboardists worldwide.

I took a leap of faith, leaving behind a promising career in biomedicine to follow my heart and dedicate my life to music.

My adventure began when I joined a Pink Floyd tribute band in 2016 and I played over 200 live shows in the span of six years. It was a deep dive into the complex and captivating soundscapes of progressive rock, which has since become the foundation of my work.

Today I create keyboard sound packs that capture the soul of my favorite prog rock bands, and teach music and sound design, helping my students and friends from all over the world grow.
